Never, Ever, have I been so inspired! Today we dropped on gift baskets full of special momentos but also survival items to 20 homeless students that are Graduating High School next week! Met an AMAZING woman that advocates for these kids and makes thier success, her mission. Amazing! She is truly, changing the world and the future of so many.
This project was so special to my Siena and I, and today was a blessing.
We were also surprised by an RJ reporter and Fox 5 news crew who interviewed us and will be helping to spread the word. The more who know...... The more we grow.....
Now we focus on Camp To Belong, the summer camp for foster kids who are seperated from siblings! They get to go to camp together and celebrate all of the times and things they have missed with eachother. I have goosebumps thinking about it! This happened to my mom, and I know how much it hurt her. Sisters and brothers need each other, how sad to be torn away from eachother. This will be a GREAT week for them. We need gifts for thier birthday celebrations (we have offered to cover 13 year old girl gifts) and bottles of fruit juices and aloe vera. Message me to get involved.
What a day! What a week! Finals all week and that is stressful. Tomorrow is the last day, and last two tests!

Yesterday Ellie and I along with my little sis Siena, and Michael, all brought in our donations we had collected to restock the kitchen at the William Fry Center on Shirley Street. First of all, Thank you everyone who donated! Secondly, that kitchen was pretty bare, and the teens hanging out there were happy to get into the new stock! Felt good. The main thing I noticed was how most of the homeless teens there looked about like us, like a regular teen! Not like a street person. They do not want people to know they need help, they just want to fit in. So, when welooked into the closet of clothes donations and saw just a few old jeans and some old people looking tops, beat up shoes, etc. We felt really sad. Erica told us that these teens would rather have nothing then to be seen in these clothes. They want to look like other teens. So, NEW MISSION.... Clean out your closet. We all have so many nice things and get more all the time. We are lucky! Message me or call, whatever, get me or Siena or Ellie, your bags of COOL, STYLISH TEEN Clothes and shoes! NOW! Thank you:)

Let me know. email me at [email protected] or just text me at 610-5485.

I'm visiting Missouri and I thought the homeless teen population would be lower here. I did some research to see what kind of help is needed here and also to see what services were available for homeless teens of Missouri. I was sadly surprised to find that the numbers are much, much higher here. I guess Nevada's rate isn't so high. Our rate around 6000, Missouri, 17,250! Wow, sad. So we do have something to be thankful for but alot more work to be done. lAS VEGAS really does have a great community of giving people. I am anxious to get back home and plan our Bishop Gorman homeless teen donation drive with Ellie!

I did a dress for success drive earlier this year for the woman at the Shade Tree Shelter and I saw a report about that cause this morning on the news! It felt great to help those homeless woman dress nice for job interviews. THIS is another GREAT IDEA FOR OUR HOMELESS TEENS! Most homeless teens are either trying to get jobs or they go to school, so they need to dress for success too. They want to survive and they want to fit in. So, we need to be sure to donate all of our clothes, shoes and accessories that would be priceless to a homeless teen! It's almost the end of the school year so clean out that winter closet and dress our homeless brothers and sisters and make room for your new summer wardrobe. Email me to pick up your donations. [email protected].

So many of our brothers and sisters are homeless, through no fault of thier own. Some have no families, while others have dangerous home lives that they had to leave to escape sexual abuse or violence. We must support our friends. Our first instint is to pray for them and help them get home! The sad fact is, most of these kids can never go home. They aren't wanted, or it's too dangerous. Alot of them have been put into foster care and the experience was so horrible that they prefer the streets! What does that tell you about the quality of foster homes in this town? Another topic to discuss another time. THIS is our sounding board. What can we do to help? Not to help them get back to a dangerous home, but to help them survive the streets? Besides the obvious donations and assistance? Please brainstorm and look into your hearts for ideas. There are 200,000 thousand of us, TEENS WITH HOMES, and only about 6000 of our friends that are homeless. So, just think. If each of us did just a tiny, tiny thing, WOW, what a difference we could make. THink about it! I know we can't save the world overnight so lets just see if we can help; with the urgent list below.
URGENT NEEDS LIST:
Bra's- any size or color but size C and D are most needed. New or slightly used and clean please.
dry snacks- beef jerky, snack crackers, etc.
Microwaveable foods for drop in centers- pizza pockets, ravioli's, soups, etc.
email me for drop off locations, or visit the POINTS OF SERVICE PAGE, for immediate info on who needs what.
